Sgt at Arms Sil:  Today Sil did a trivia on the NCAA Basketball Tournament and it cost a number of $5 to learn about this most important college sports event.  We were questioned about now many national championships were won by some of the more popular colleges.  The record is held by UCLA when John Wooden was the head coach.

Today’s Program

Our speaker today was Dr. Pate Thompson from Berkeley Rotary.  Aaron Gobler began the presentation by telling us about the bowl-a-thon fund raiser on May 20, 2017 where all the BarSheep clubs will have a team competing in the event.  Each team is to raise $1000 in sponsorships so that a total of $10000 will be raised.

We were then treated to an update of the RotaCare clinic which has gone through a major upgrade.  This was brought about by the clinic being moved and upgraded a bit over a year ago.  The clinic originally opened in Mar 2013 and when facility had to move there was a lot of work to do which was done by volunteers.  The move and upgrades were completed and the clinic is now in it’s fourth year.

This was an excellent briefing on the clinic operation.  Dr. Pate gave us example of some of their more interest cases.  What a great Rotary program has been developed by the BARSHEEP clubs along with Alamo.  The clinic is open on Thursday evening and one Saturday morning each month.

Thanks to Dr. Pate for the update on this great Rotary program.

Raffle Winner:   Jack had his ticket pulled for the bottle of Bourbon.  Don had his ticket pulled to choose a marble and drew catseye.   Next week the jackpot will be $90.

Thought for the week:
