Today’s Program.

Sarah introduced our speaker for today:  Chris Kubik from MCE clean energy producers.  Ms Kubik gave us the history of the company and how it grew up.  In 2001 electricity was deregulated in California.  In 2008 MCE was born to provide green electricity to local communities.  In 2014 the El Cerrito City Council agreed to add MCE as a electricity provider.  El Cerrito is now the second largest customer for this energy.  MCE serves Marin and Solano Co as well as Benicia and other Contra County cities.  Chris explained the reason why MCE was developed and how it has become a large scale solar energy provider.  MCE built large scale solar plants ion Richmond.  Chris answered many questions and helped us understand the relationship between PG&E and MCE in terms of how they provide the electricity resource.  This was a very informative presentation.  Thanks to Sarah for arranging for Chris to speak to us.
