President Terry:  greeted everyone and asked Mark Scott to lead the pledge.  Terry provided the thought for today.

Guests and visiting Rotarians:  Jack had guest Sabrina Pan and announced she has decided to join the El Cerrito Rotary Club.  David Weinstein of the EC Trail Trekkers was here to tell us about our partnership with the city for the May 26th clean-up day.

  • Terry reminded the June speaker team to get the months speakers booked Joe Yang is the leader
  • Lee gave us a quick summary of the May 26th clean up event. He also told us about the Millennial Task Force Meeting at McBears Social club in El Cerrito on the 23rd.  Lee handed out fliers for all of us to use in promoting the meeting.  Be sure and give these to those you think are interested in this activity and love to do community service.

The event will be held on June 2nd at Salute Evita Ristorante Marina Bay, 1900 Esplanade Drove in Richmond.  Sign up now and pay the treasurer for your tickets.  The dinner is $50 per person and the menu looks really goo

Sgt at Arms:  Sal announced the birthdays and anniversaries.  Then he did some historical trivia and collect money from those who did not get the correct answers.  Good fun and great info.

Other Interesting things today:  David Weinstein gave a demonstration of the gear we will be using for the cleanup on May 26th.

Today’s Program:

We did not have an “official” speaker but President Terry gave us the option to have a discussion of potential projects for our club.  During the discussion Sal told us about the placing of flags at the grave sites of veterans on memorial day.

Rafael told us a sad situation of a friend who was injured in a vehicle accident and the efforts he is doing to obtain some financial support for the injuries she sustained on one of her hands.

One of the potential projects was identified by Tracy.  There is a spot at Cerrito Vista that had a tree removed and it needs to be remedicated with benches so the parents can sit while their kids play on the play structures.    There will be more action taken to select specific actions to be taken.

Terry reminded us that next week we have the El Cerrito Mayor and we will be inducting the new Interact officers for 2018-19.

 Raffle Winners:

Kanti won the bottle of wine.  Mark Scott had his ticket pulled for the marble game and drew a black marble costing him $5.   Next week the jackpot will be $135.
