Today’s Program:

Sonya introduced Crystal Merrill fo the WCCUSD real aloud program to tell us abou the probram and the impact and benefits that program provides for selected grammer schools.  Crystal gave us a review of what the program is and how it works.  She also explained how volunteers are used in the program to create an environnment in which grammer school children are encouraged to read by being read to by both the volunteers and their parents.  We learned about the program that provies books to the children and how they are encouraged to read and be read to so they can understand the joy and excitement of reading.  Crystal have been with the program for several years and explained the benefits and results that have been gained.  He also gave us info on how to check in to become an adult volunteer reader for the program.   This is  wonderful program and that has experienced growth year to year.  The evaluation of results of the program has revealed a significant improvement in the attitude and results of these children being involved in this program.  We were also told how we can donate $$ and books to the program.
