Todays Program:

Anthony Cassel, a friend of Marty’s was our speaker today.  Anthony was here to tell lus about the “home for a home” program that he participates in at his real estate agency.  This program has a number of realtors who support it by having a fund that allows them to build a shall dwelling in Guatamala  This fund is supported by the realtors.  The program is called Home for a home.  This organization provides funding to families in Guatamala so they can have a place where they can live and prosper.  Anthony showed us pictures of these small dwellings that allow people to live and work so they can move up in their economic structure.  In addition to a home they are provided a water filtration system and a stove for their dwelling.  The current dwellings also have an attached toilet facility which provides a greater level of essential living services.  These small homes have gone through some ongoing upgrading and are now such that they provide residences a number of comforts and stability for the families.  Since this is a pioneering progress, there are always a number of options that are now available.  This show how innovative these realtors are when it comes to providing the people they service a standard of living that was previously impossible.   Anthony strongly suggested we visit their website to see and learn more.  You can do a Google search on home for a home and reach the site and get more information.  It was great having Anthony visit us so we could learn more about this program.  Although not run by Rotary, this program has a lot of the hallmarks of the programs that as done by Rotary.  If you wish to chek in with Anthony go to the website www.anthonyecasal.com and go from there.
