Andrew Hemp has been with Maersk Line for the past 14 years where he has managed a number of high profile global markets including the military, exempt commodities and has been the lead on a number of specialized agricultural commodity markets including the containerized bulk commodity grain market.

He was awarded Maersk’s Global Blue Ribbon Award in 2011 for his continued involvement in the global development of the containerized grain program. The containerized grain program helped move grain more efficiently than ever before and reach areas of the globe that were previously unreachable. The containerized grain program has also played a key role in balancing the US import/export ratios!

Mr. Hemp continues to work with suppliers, handlers, buyers, governments, railroads and intermediaries towards the further development of the containerized grain market globally.  Mr. Hemp has participated as guest speaker and panelist on containerized shipping and containerized bulk grain at numerous conferences and affiliated functions around the world.  Mr. Hemp instructed on agricultural logistics at the International Grains Master’s Program at Kansas State University.

Mr. Hemp was born and raised the youngest of seven in Berkeley California where he and his wife are raising their two daughters.
